Stephanie Burns

Stephanie Burns is the director of the Office for Youth Engagement at Texas A&M University. In January 2023, she transitioned efforts she led previously in the Community Outreach and Inclusion unit to this office to continue expanding youth engagement for Texas A&M. Stephanie believes in the power of education to create generational change and is excited to bring her experiences teaching and leading in high schools to this role. She is passionate about equipping students and their families with knowledge and resources to make decisions, and she is excited that her alma mater has made a commitment to doing this work alongside partners and in communities across the State.

Stephanie has more than 10 years of experience working in Texas high schools including founding and leading a charter high school in Austin. She served as the chief of staff for the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service where she drove strategic plan implementation and supported the Director with agency initiatives. Stephanie holds a master of education in educational leadership and urban policy from Southern Methodist University and a bachelor of science in animal science from Texas A&M University.
